The European Securities and Markets Authority has submitted its response to the European Commission's public consultation on the review of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, proposing measures to enhance investor protection, streamline rules, and oversee emerging activities such as decentralised finance.<\/p>\n
In its response, the European Securities and Markets Authority recommended safeguards to address risks facing investors in areas not fully covered by the current framework. To ensure greater cost transparency, ESMA recommended introducing disclosure obligations for staking, lending, and borrowing services. These requirements would mandate clear initial information regarding costs, risks, potential rewards, collateral arrangements, and possible financial losses.<\/p>\n
