Frequently asked questions
Is my checklist progress saved?
Yes. Your progress is stored locally in your browser using JavaScript variables. No data is transmitted to any server. However, clearing your browser data or using a different device will reset your progress. Use the PDF download to save a permanent copy.
When should I start preparing?
Large enterprises should begin immediately. The disclosure obligation under Article 24 already applies for the first full financial year after 18 July 2024. The destruction ban takes effect on 19 July 2026. The standardised disclosure format applies from approximately February 2027. Medium-sized enterprises have until 19 July 2030.
What happens if I miss the deadline?
Penalties for non-compliance are determined at Member State level but must be effective, proportionate, and dissuasive under the ESPR. Beyond regulatory penalties, non-compliance carries significant reputational risk. The verification framework in Annex III to the Implementing Regulation establishes risk-based checks by national authorities.
