1. What are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on Your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when You visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to provide information to website owners, and to enable certain features.
Cookies can be “first-party” (set by us) or “third-party” (set by a service we use, such as Google Analytics). Cookies can also be “session” cookies (deleted when You close Your browser) or “persistent” cookies (stored on Your device until they expire or You delete them).
In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as pixels (also known as web beacons or tracking pixels), tags, and scripts. These technologies work in a similar way to cookies and are subject to the same consent requirements. References to “cookies” in this policy include these similar technologies unless stated otherwise.
.
2. Legal basis for using cookies
We use cookies in accordance with the following legal frameworks, where applicable:
EU/EEA/UK: The ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC) and its national implementations require us to obtain Your prior consent before placing non-essential cookies on Your device. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. Consent must be freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous. We do not use cookie walls (blocking access unless You accept cookies).
Switzerland: The Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the Swiss Telecommunications Act (FMG) require transparency about data collection. We apply the same opt-in consent standard as the EU for consistency.
United States (California): Under the CCPA/CPRA, we honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell Your personal data. We treat GPC signals as an opt-out of third-party tracking cookies.
Other jurisdictions: We apply the strictest applicable standard (EU opt-in consent) globally, so all Website visitors receive the same level of protection regardless of location.
3. How we obtain your consent
When You first visit our Website, a cookie consent banner is displayed, managed by our consent management platform (Pressidium Cookie Consent). The banner gives You the
following options:
(a) Accept all cookies: all cookie categories (including analytics, marketing, and functional) are activated.
(b) Reject non-essential cookies: only strictly necessary cookies are activated. Analytics, marketing, and functional cookies are not placed.
(c) Customise: You can choose which categories of cookies to accept or reject individually.
Important: No non-essential cookies are placed on Your device until You make a choice. If You do not interact with the banner, only strictly necessary cookies are used.
You can change Your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of our Website. Withdrawal of consent is as easy as giving it.
