The Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (Comissão de Valores Mobiliários, or CVM) participated in the III National Seminar on Credit on Thursday, 10 September 2026. The event took place at the headquarters of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) in Brasília.
Capital Markets, Tokenisation, and Financial Innovation
CVM President Otto Lobo led a panel discussion focused on market innovation, titled Capital Markets and Credit: Asset Tokenisation, Innovation, and New Investment Structures.
The panel featured experts from across the Brazilian financial and legal sectors, including Rafael Furlanetti, partner and Institutional Director at XP Investimentos; Fernando Magno, partner and Director of Strategic Litigation at BTG Pactual; and Tayná Carneiro, Vice President of the Artificial Intelligence Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro Section.
CVM Restructuring and Organizational Capacity
During the session, Lobo addressed ongoing regulatory measures being implemented at the CVM to fulfill the agency's restructuring plan. Approved by the Supreme Federal Court (STF), the plan seeks to refine the organizational framework of the regulatory authority and reinforce its overall operational capacity.
